Dr. Akram Al Assaad earned his Medical Degree from the University of Aleppo in 1981 , followed by a PhD in Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery from the Medical University of Tereza (USSR) in 1987. With an illustrious career spanning over 40 years, he has held prominent leadership roles, including General Director and Head of the Orthopedic Department at Al Razi Hospital in Aleppo—one of the largest emergency and educational hospitals in the region.
Dr. Al Assaad’s professional journey is marked by high-volume surgical expertise, performing over 60 complex surgeries annually and conducting hundreds of consultations. He practiced as a Consultant in Saudi Arabia before moving to the UAE in 2009, where he joined Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital in Abu Dhabi as a Specialist Orthopedic Surgeon. He is widely recognized for his precision in joint replacement and his contributions to medical literature.
